About Me
Hi, I’m Carrie!
I am a teacher, parent and advocate for students with learning difficulties, specifically dyslexia and dysgraphia.
My own son was diagnosed in 2nd grade with learning difficulties and I have made it my mission to advocate for him in school by setting up accommodations and plans that allow him to be successful. Our journey has had ups and downs throughout elementary school, junior high and through our high school years. I am here to share in all these experiences with you and your family and find a way to help you and your child, just as I have done my own.
I have 20+ years in education in and out of the classroom. I am a current 5th grade classroom teacher of all core subjects. I have a Junior and a Freshman who have been in the Geneva district since Kindergarten. I love tutoring kids of the 3rd-5th grade age and I have an endorsement in middle school Language Arts so I can work with those students as well. In my free time (if there is any!), I like to read, travel, do yoga, shop and play with my dogs.
I look forward to helping your family!

Reviews
“I taught with Carrie Meier last year. During our many conversations, with her about some struggles my daughter was having, she shared her own story. She suggested I get my daughter tested for Dyslexia along with a full neuro psych. eval. I sought out a doctor who would provide the full battery of dyslexia tests along with the neuro psych. It was Carries encouragement and words of advice that never let me give up my fight. Speaking as an educator myself, we are not trained in recognizing the warning signs of dyslexia nor are we trained on how to support a child with it. Carrie is an expert who can not only fight for what is right for your child at school but lead you to the resources necessary to help your child thrive!”
